A four-year starter on the football field, Don Weiss received the program's Dr. J Harold Engle '23 Award (presented to the team's most valuable back) in 1967 and 1968. As a sophomore, the quarterback was a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) honorable mention selection. After competing as a safety and quarterback in his junior campaign, he was an Associated Press (AP) Little All-American honorable-mention pick, was named Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) all-East, all-state second team, all-conference first team, and was the most valuable player of the MAC Northern Division. He led Juniata to the MAC Northern Division crown in 1967. Following his senior season, he was an AP Little All-American honorable mention pick and was the conference's most valuable player. He led Juniata in passing and total offense over four consecutive seasons and topped the squad in scoring in 1966 and 1968. At the time of his induction, he was Juniata's and the MAC's all-time leader in pass efficiency rating (140.6) and still ranked third on College Hill in touchdown passes (50), completions (327), and yards passing (4,249). Following graduation, the Athens High School product went on to play in the Canadian Football League for Winnipeg and Saskatchewan.
