Men's Track Has Outstanding Performance at Messiah

MECHANICSBURG, Pa - The Juniata men's track and field team continued to build momentum at the Messiah Invitational, with several athletes setting personal bests and top finishes.

Caleb Massare (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring HS) was a double PR performer, clocking 11.72 in the 100 meters and finishing fifth in the 400m hurdles with a 59.10 — both personal bests. Mandel Edelin (Washington, D.C. / Ron Brown College Prep HS) led Juniata in the 100m dash with an 11.80, and also placed 10th in the long jump at 5.80m.

Deric Fritzges (Walnutport, Pa. / Northampton Area HS) ran 11.87 in the 100 meters. Sean Buckley competed in both the 100 and 200, posting 26.86 in the 200.

In the 400 meters, Gavin Robb (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley HS) ran a personal best of 56.97 and also threw a season-best 41.38m in the javelin. Josh Wilson (Chesapeake Beach, Md. / Northern HS) ran 2:04.36 to lead the Eagles in the 800 meters, followed by Jake Alexander (Morrisdale, Pa. / West Branch Area HS) in 2:09.92 and Shane Smith (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central HS) in 2:18.15.

In the 5000 meters, Adam Gallo (Danville, Pa. / Danville Area HS) led a trio of standout performances with a third-place finish in 16:11.94. He was followed by Conrad Coffey (Burnham, Pa. / Mifflin County HS) in fourth (16:22.16, PR) and McClain Reamer in sixth (16:24.48). Clark Gaynor (Honey Brook, Pa. / Twin Valley HS)rounded out the group in 18:26.57.

In the field, Spencer Siegel (Dillsburg, Pa. ) had a strong showing in the shot put (12.81m, 9th) and discus (37.22m, 16th). Logan Hackenberg (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg HS) finished 14th in the hammer throw at 35.54m and also threw 30.43m in the discus. Noah Rice (Shade Gap, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon County HS) added a 33.16m mark in the discus and 10.93m in the shot put.

In jumps, Waylon Ehrenzeller (Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata HS) posted a 10.96m in the triple jump and 4.92m in the long jump. Shane Smith contributed a 5.20m long jump as well. Hunter Robertson (Clifton Springs, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) competed in the discus and javelin, while Talbot Reed-Jaquay (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area Senior HS) added efforts in both the discus and hammer.

Aaron Brumbaugh (Dysart, Pa. / Penn Cambria HS) led Juniata in the javelin with a 45.80m throw, placing 10th.
