ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Juniata women's lacrosse team won 17-6 on the road at Goucher College on Saturday afternoon.
Peyton Goodrich (Reading, Pa. / Berks Catholic) tallied five goals, a ground ball, and a draw control, while Kyndall Yeager (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) amassed three goals, two assists, five draw controls, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. Kelliann Drummond (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) added three goals, while Shannon Para (Alexandria, Va. / West Potomac) contributed with two. Skyler Stevens (Fallston, Md. / Fallston HS) had a goal and an assist, Ella McGlaughlin (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area High School) chipped in with two goals of her own, Devyn Mauger (Lancaster, Pa. / Penn Manor HS) had one goal, and Maeve Kuser tallied one assist. Tess Ledeboer (Orefield, Pa. / Northwestern Lehigh) had a game-high six draw controls, with two ground balls and a caused turnover. Mikayla Bodley (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County HS) made four saves.
Drummond and Goodrich scored less than a minute apart as Juniata led 2-0 early. The Gophers struck twice around a Stevens goal, and the Eagles closed the quarter by scoring the final three goals to lead 6-2 after one.
Kuser set up Goodrich a little under two minutes into the second, and the Gophers responded three minutes later. Para, Goodrich, and Yeager all found the back of the net to increase the lead to seven before Goucher scored the final goal of the half as Juniata led 10-4 at the break.
Juniata dominated the third, outscoring the hosts 5-0 as Drummond and Yeager each scored twice in the quarter, and the Eagles cruised through the fourth.
The Eagles will host Catholic on Wednesday at 7:00.
