Stubbe, Drummond and Yeager Lead Eagles Past Greyhounds on Senior Day

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team picked up a tight 13-11 victory over visiting Moravian University, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Gibbel Stadium.

Elayna Stubbe (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) had four goals, an assist, and a ground ball while Kelliann Drummond (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) totaled a goal, three assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Kyndall Yeager (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) contributed two goals, two assists and seven draw controls while Skyler Stevens (Fallston, Md. / Fallston HS) added two goals, which put her at 100 career points. Peyton Goodrich (Reading, Pa. / Berks Catholic) and Shannon Para (Alexandria, Va. / West Potomac) each tallied two goals and an assist. Maeve Kuser (Upperco, Md. / Hereford) added five caused turnovers while Devyn Mauger (Lancaster, Pa. / Penn Manor HS) and Tess Ledeboer (Orefield, Pa. / Northwestern Lehigh) had two apiece. Mikayla Bodley (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County HS) made nine saves and picked up seven ground balls.

The Eagles scored the only goals in the first quarter, as Drummond found Stubbe for a goal and Yeager scored off a Goodrich assist.

In the second, the Eagles sandwiched two goals around a Greyhound goal in the first eight minutes as Stubbe, Drummond, Stevens and Goodrich put JC up 6-1. The teams traded goals, with Stubbe adding another on a free-position shot as JC led 8-3 at the half.

Each team scored three times in the third, as the Eagle lead stayed at five heading into the fourth.

The Greyhounds scored three of the first four goals of the fourth, before Para found the back of the net off a nice feed from Stubbe.

Moravian struck twice to get within two with two minutes to go, and the Eagles had two players carded in the final two minutes. Inside the final minute and thirty seconds, Bodley stopped a free position shot and Kuser forced a turnover to ice the game as Juniata saw out the win.

Juniata will travel to take on Susquehanna, Wednesday at 4:00.
