DAVENPORT, Fla.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team lost in the Sunshine State to Clarkson University, 17-9, on Thursday morning.
Peyton Goodrich tallied three goals, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers, while Kelliann Drummond and Devyn Mauger scored two goals apiece, with Mauger adding six draw controls. Kyndall Yeager had a goal and an assist with four draw controls, while Elayna Stubbe scored once. Mikayla Bodley made 13 saves in goal for JC.
Drummond scored the game's opening goal while the Eagles were a man-up. The Golden Nights took over, scoring the game's following seven goals as Juniata trailed 7-1 early in the second quarter.
The teams traded goals for the rest of the half, with Stubbe's goal inside the final two minutes, making it 10-5 heading into the halftime break.
The Eagles couldn't get closer than four the rest of the game.
Juniata will return to action at home against the University of Scranton on Sunday at 1:00.
