OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team opened their season on the road at Stevenson University with a loss, 11-6, Friday evening.
Peyton Goodrich surpassed 200 career goals by scoring four goals, four ground balls and three draw controls. Kyndall Yeager tallied a goal and a ground ball. First year Ella McGlaughlin scored her first career goal in the game, while Kelliann Drummond added an assist. Mikayla Bodley made 12 saves in goal for JC.
The first quarter saw the teams each score twice, as Juniata answered both Mustang goals with a pair of free position shots, one from Goodrich and the other from Yeager. The teams were knotted at 2-2 at halftime.
Stevenson outscored JC by one in the third quarter and made their move in the fourth. They scored the first four goals of the final quarter in a two-minute span to create some breathing room. Goodrich scored the final goal of the game on a free-position shot.
Juniata returns to action Saturday, February 22nd, as they travel to take on Alvernia on February 22nd.
