WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team picked up a road victory at Wilkes University, 23-4, Saturday afternoon.
Kyndall Yeager totaled seven goals, tying a career-high, seven draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers, while Peyton Goodrich amassed five goals, three assists, two caused turnovers, and a ground ball. Kelliann Drummond had a goal, four assists, two caused turnovers, and a ground ball. Skyler Stevens had three goals, while Elayna Stubbe had two goals, an assist, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls. Ella McGlaughlin had two goals, Madi Van Zant had a goal and an assist, and Sarah Hepburn and Rachel Yabra had a goal apiece. Devyn Mauger added an assist, three draw controls, and two ground balls. Caoilinn Heatley came in and made two saves in goal for the Eagles.
Yeager scored four goals in the opening 11 minutes, with Goodrich and Drummond assisting one each as Juniata led 4-1. Stevens and McGlaughlin added goals of their own before the Colonels got two back. Goodrich found Yeager for her fifth as Juniata led 7-3 after one.
The Eagles dominated the second quarter with 10 goals and outscored Wilkes 6-1 in the second half to ice the game.
Juniata outshot Wilkes 46-9 and was a perfect 18-18 on clears.
