SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team picked up their second consecutive win as they won at Susquehanna, 13-9, Wednesday afternoon.
Peyton Goodrich (Reading, Pa. / Berks Catholic) netted four goals with four draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers, while Kyndall Yeager (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) totaled four goals and four draw controls. Kelliann Drummond (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) tallied three goals, an assist, and two ground balls, while Skyler Stevens (Fallston, Md. / Fallston HS) had a goal, an assist, two ground balls, and a draw control. Ella McGlaughlin (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area High School) scored once, while Devyn Mauger (Lancaster, Pa. / Penn Manor HS) amassed an assist and two ground balls. Tess Ledeboer (Orefield, Pa. / Northwestern Lehigh) had three ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Mikayla Bodley (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County HS) made 10 saves in net.
Stevens opened the scoring 44 seconds into the contest, and Yeager doubled the Juniata lead a moment later. SU scored the final goal of the quarter with just under four minutes to go in the first quarter, and JC led by one after one.
Juniata outscored their hosts 4-2 in the second, with Yeager scoring two of the goals for JC. Both River Hawk goals game via free position shots, and Juniata led 6-3 at the half.
Goodrich scored twice while Yeager tallied one, and Juniata led 9-5 heading into the fourth. Yeager's goal was the 200th point of her career.
The Eagles held off Susquehanna, never allowing them to get closer than three, as they won 13-9.
Juniata held an advantage in shots, 33-25, and in draw controls 13-12.
Juniata will travel to play Goucher on Saturday at 1:00.
