HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost to visiting Goucher College, 17-4, on Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.
Sterling Bechler tallied three goals, three ground balls, and a caused turnover, while Reuben Stoll had a goal, an assist, and a ground ball. Vincent Bechler added an assist, a ground ball, and a caused turnover. Ryan Madison contributed 19 saves.
The teams traded goals over the opening five minutes, with S. Bechler scoring for the Eagles. The Gophers struck four consecutive times before V. Bechler turned provider, finding Stoll, who beat the keeper to make it 5-2. The Gophers added one more, and they led 6-2 after one.
S. Bechler scored twice in the second quarter, with Stoll assisting the second, but the Gophers controlled the quarter as they led 13-4 at the half.
The defenses shut things down in the third, as neither team scored, and Goucher struck four more times in the fourth to complete the scoring.
Juniata returns to the field on the road at Lycoming at 7:00.
