Baseball Mid-Week Against Lycoming Postponed Due to Rain

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata baseball's Tuesday afternoon matchup with Lycoming was halted and ultimately declared a no-contest due to rain in the bottom of the fourth inning with the score tied 3-3.

The Eagles rallied in the fourth to erase a 3-0 deficit after Lycoming struck for all of its runs in the top of the third. The Warriors opened the scoring on a two-run triple by Danny DeLucas and added another on a failed pickoff attempt.

Juniata answered with a big inning of its own. Charlie Bakken drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the first run. Moments later, Jacob Despot delivered a two-run single through the left side to score Joey Woodrow and Jackson Cunnane, tying the game.

Hunter Thomas went four innings on the mound for Juniata, allowing three hits and striking out four.

Play was suspended and then called due to heavy rain with the Golden Eagles threatening and the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth.

Because the game did not reach the required five innings to be considered official, the contest will not count toward either team's record.

Juniata is scheduled to return to action Friday against Drew.
