The Juniata College men's track and field team competed at the Mid-Week PR Bonanza hosted by Shippensburg University.
In the 800 meters, Josh Wilson (Chesapeake Beach, Md. / Northern HS) ran a season-best 2:04.64 to place third in his heat. He was followed by teammates: Jake Alexander (Morrisdale, Pa. / West Branch Area HS), McClain Reamer, CJ Coffey (Burnham, Pa. / Mifflin County HS), and Braden Barrick (Newport, Pa. / Newport HS), who ran 2:08.13, 2:09.17, 2:18.17, and 2:19.60, respectively.
Shane Smith (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central HS) competed in both the 200 and 400 meters, posting times of 26.73 and 58.42.
In the hurdles, freshman Deric Fritzges (Walnutport, Pa. / Northampton Area HS) clocked 58.92 in the 400m hurdles, finishing second in his heat and placing 2nd overall.
The field events brought additional highlights. Mandel Edelin (Washington, D.C. / Ron Brown College Prep HS) led Juniata in the long jump with a leap of 6.18m (20'3.5"), followed by Shane Smith at 5.64m, and Waylon Ehrenzeller(Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata HS) at 5.31m.
In the throws, freshman Aaron Brumbaugh (Dysart, Pa. / Penn Cambria HS) placed sixth overall in the javelin with a mark of 48.14m (157'11"), while Stephen Kataria threw 19.63m (64'5") in the discus. Logan Hackenberg (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg HS) placed 19th in the hammer throw (32.94m), and Talbot Reed-Jaquay (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area Senior HS) threw 25.07m in the same event.
