A 1935 graduate of Juniata College, Dick Fraker was an outstanding pitcher on College Hill from 1930 through 1933. He served as a team captain on the 1933 squad. The four-year letter winner suffered just one mound loss during his entire collegiate stay, and over his four seasons with the team the Juniata diamond unit won three league championships and tied for another title the remaining year. Juniata was 37-7 overall during his time with the program. A local product, he was inducted into the Huntingdon County Sports Hall of Fame on June 19, 1999. He once pitched in an exhibition game against the barnstorming Homestead Grays of the Negro League and lost a 5-3 mound duel with future Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Satchell Paige. He was a four-year pitcher and third baseman for McConnellsburg High School, during which he lost only four games. After graduating from College Hill, he began a high school teaching and coaching career (football, boys and girls basketball, track and soccer) that covered 41 years and included stops at Saltillo and Southern Huntingdon high schools.
