A two-way lineman and kicker for the football squad, Keith Birmingham was also an outstanding golfer on the great Juniata teams in the mid 1950s. He earned four varsity letters in each sport and was an inspirational leader to both programs. He was a three-year starter for the first undefeated football teams on College Hill and the program amassed an impressive 29-2-1 record during his collegiate tenure. He played all 60 minutes in the 1956 Tangerine Bowl, an outing that Juniata and Missouri Valley tied, 6-6. The tight end on offense and defensive end also was the club's kicker for extra points and kickoffs. On the golf links, the 1952 Moon Township High School graduate was a member of two teams that captured the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship. He consistently shot in the low 70s and was the individual medalist at the 1956 conference outing. Currently retired, he was the club golf champion for many years at Montour Heights Country Club in Pittsburgh.
