SCRANTON, Pa.- The #7 seeded Juniata women's lacrosse team lost on the road at #2 seeded Scranton, 20-7, in the Landmark Playoff Quarterfinals, Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field.

Grace Gibbs (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck HS) tallied five goals and two draw controls, Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) had two goals, two ground balls, and a caused turnover, Nicole Koenig (Media, Pa. / Penncrest H.S.) had a ground ball and a caused turnover while Aspen Handel (Richboro, Pa. / Bucks County) had a ground ball and two draw controls. Isabella Medaris (Monroe, Conn. / Masuk H.S.) made 10 saves in the first half, and Chloe Gerhard (Macungie, Pa. / Emmaus H.S.) made two in the second.

Gibbs scored the game's opening goal to start Juniata's first-ever playoff game off on a positive note. But the Royals took complete control of the game from there, scoring the next 15 goals in the half as they led 15-1 at the break. JC struggled to hold on to the ball as they committed 11 first-half turnovers.

The teams traded goals in the second half, with Bertrando scoring hers four minutes apart.

Gibbs scored three in a row on free position shots to make it 18-6, and a few minutes later, she found the back of the net for her fifth.

The Royals added one more goal inside the final two minutes to make it 20-7.
