Royals Roll Past Eagles

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team opened their season on the road in a Landmark Conference matchup against Scranton. The Eagles fell, 18-4.

Scranton scored their first eight goals in the first twenty minutes of the half. With six minutes left to play in the first half, Taylor Metz (Oaklyn, N.J. / Paul VI H.S.) recorded the Eagles first goal of the game. Forty seconds later, Scranton tacked on another goal to make it 9-1 with five minutes left in the half. With three minutes left, Isabella Michener (Randolph, N.J. / Randolph H.S.) scored on a free position shot. The Royals scored three more goals to end the half, 12-2.  

In the second half in the 26th minute Scranton scored their first goal of the half. Three minutes later, the Royals added another goal to make it, 14-2. In the 18th minute, Grace Gibbs (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck HS) scored her first career goal on a free position shot. Two minutes later, Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) scored Juniata's final goal of the game to make it 14-4 with 15 minutes left in the game. Scranton added three more goals to close out the game with a final score of 18-4.
