Kylie Edwards tallied three goals for the third time this season.

HUNTINGDON, Pa.-The Juniata women's lacrosse team had their comeback fall just short as they fell, 11-10, against Goucher Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

The Gophers scored the opening goal 29 seconds in, but two minutes later Juniata tied the score when Natalie Gibson (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) found Lauren Rowe (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area HS) right in front of goal and Rowe scored in heavy traffic. 13 minutes passed before Zoe Fishter (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) put JC ahead as she scored a goal while Juniata was a woman-up to make it 2-1. The Gophers responded two minutes later to make it 2-2. Goucher struck two minutes later before Rowe scored her second goal of the day to send the teams to halftime tied 3-3.

Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) scored twice in the opening four minutes of the second half to put Juniata up 5-3. Fishter followed another Gopher goal with her second as Juniata led 6-4.

Goucher tallied four goals over six minutes to retake the lead 8-6, Edwards scored her third off a pass from Rowe but the Gophers tallied two more to push their lead to 10-7. Arielle Danchenko (Palm City, Fla./South Fork HS) scored while JC was a woman-down with just under nine minutes to go to pull the Eagles within two. The Gophers scored with a little under four minutes. Gibson scored with a minute and a half left and Santana Mays (Parkton, Md./Hereford) found the back of the net in the final 12 seconds.

Juniata will play at Catholic, Saturday at 12:00.
