A four-year letter winner and three-year starter at setter, Beth Hoppel Barnett earned All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors and first team All-America honors three straight years from 1985-87. A two-year team captain, she helped Juniata to four consecutive MAC titles, three NCAA Division III semifinal appearances and a 178-29 overall record during her career. As a senior, she was named to the NCAA championship all-tournament team. She finished her Juniata playing career with then school record totals for assists all-time (4,525 - now third) and in a season (1,707 in 1987 - now third). She was the recipient of the school's Bargerstock Award as the most outstanding female athlete of her graduating class.
