Edgar Kiracofe took over as head coach of the golf program in only its second season of existence and led the program to its first-ever undefeated season, going 8-0 in 1948. He would then guide the program to a 45-7-1 record over the next six years. His career winning percentage over that time of .858 is the highest in school history. During his six-year tenure, Juniata was undefeated and untied on its home course for 23 consecutive matches and finished its season without a loss twice. Along with his 45 dual-match wins, he also coached Juniata to victories in five invitationals, including the program’s host tournament, the Juniata Invitational, in 1951 and 1952.
