Women’s Tennis Earns Six ITA Scholar-Athlete HonorsJuly 11, 2014SKILLMAN, N.J – The Juniata College women’s tennis team earned six Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2014 season, the organization announced this afternoon. Rising seniors Charlotte Caddick (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) and Heather Waring (San Antonio, Tx. / John Jay) are earning the honor for the third year in a row, with rising junior Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif. / Monta Vista) earning her second, while rising juniors Tori Gray (York, Pa. / Central York) and Jacklyn Renninger (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central) along with freshman Samantha Hendricks (McVeytown, Pa. / Mifflin County) claim their first of the accolade.

75 Student-Athletes Receive Degrees at 136th Annual CommencementMay 18, 2014HUNTINGDON, Pa. – With each of their respective athletic careers at Juniata College officially over, the Eagle senior student-athletes had their sights on one more milestone, graduation. There were 75 student-athletes who participated in the 136th Annual Commencement on Saturday, May 17 to receive their degrees.

2013-14 Season-In-Review: Women’s TennisMay 15, 2014HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women’s tennis team opened the 2013-14 season with six consecutive wins. The Eagles finished with an overall 11-6 dual match record and qualified as the No. 4 seed in the Landmark Conference tournament for the second consecutive year. Juniata eventually fell to the three-time-consecutive conference champions from The University of Scranton, but still posted one of the best records in program history.

Landmark Announces Spring Sportsmanship TeamsMay 14, 2014TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has announced the final All-Sportsmanship Teams for the inaugural season of the award. In the fall of 2013 the leagues’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the sportsmanship award as a way to recognize those who are making an impact through their fair play on the field. The team includes one representative from each institution for each sport as chosen by their coaches and teammates.

Juniata had 40 members on the fall honor roll and 29 after the winter season.

Juniata Secures Final Playoff Spot with 5-4 Defeat of GoucherApril 17, 2014TOWSON, Md. – On the final day of the Landmark Conference regular season, the Juniata College women’s tennis team clinched back-to-back playoff appearances with a dramatic 5-4 win over Goucher College. In a rematch of the 2013 league semifinals, the Eagles earned the No. 4 seed in the league tournament and will face No. 1 The University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. next Tuesday, April 22, at 3:30 p.m.

Eagles Earn First Landmark Win, Sweep Susquehanna 9-0April 08, 2014HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women’s tennis teams earned a number of first with the teams’ 9-0 sweep of Susquehanna University Tuesday afternoon. The win was the first Landmark Conference victory for the Eagles in the 2014 season and also marked the first win for Juniata over Susquehanna in Huntingdon since the foundation of the league.

The Eagles dropped to 7-2 on the year, 0-2 in Landmark play, and will next face McDaniel College at home Friday, April 4, at 3 p.m.

Tennis Against Moravian PostponedMarch 29, 2014HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Due to inclement weather in the area, the Juniata College men’s and women’s tennis matches against Moravian College scheduled for Sunday have been postponed. The men’s team is tentatively scheduled to face Moravian Monday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m. The women’s match has yet to be rescheduled.

Eagles Welcome Moravian for Landmark MatchupMarch 28, 2014HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After more than a week off from competition, the Juniata College women’s tennis team will get back to action this Sunday, March 30, when they host Moravian College in a Landmark Conference dual match at 1 p.m. The Eagles are 7-1 this year suffering their only loss at Catholic University of America. Juniata bounced back from the bout with the Cardinals to roll over Lycoming College, 9-0, in the home opener on Raffensperger Tennis Courts.
