HUNTINGDON, Pa. – At the end of yet another historic season in the storied history of Juniata College men’s volleyball, four Eagles earned Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Academic All-Conference honors. Recent graduates Ben Krouse (Holland, Pa. / Council Rock South) and Alex McColgin (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg), along with rising senior Paul Kuhn (York, Pa. / Central York) and rising junior Ryan Shelton (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) were the Juniata representatives amongst a record high 74 student-athletes to garner the honor for the 2014 season.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College men’s volleyball made its 25th year a memorable one. The Eagles (29-5, 9-1 CVC) played for a national championship, won their second consecutive Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) title, set program records for most wins and fewest losses, had the most All-America selections since 2007, and finished the 2014 season ranked second in the nation.

After helping lead the team to its first NCAA Division III national championship match, redshirt junior Alex McColgin (Buffalo, N.Y./Hamburg), juniors Paul Kuhn (York, Pa./Central York) and Joe Bortak (Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford), and sophomore Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) were named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Stars, the organization announced Tuesday. Juniata tied reigning national champion Springfield College for the most All-Star selections.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – In a back and forth battle of the bigs, No. 3 Juniata College men’s volleyball could not find a way past No. 1 Springfield College in the 2014 NCAA Division III men’s volleyball national championship on Sunday in the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. The two-time defending national champions won 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) to improve to 27-8 overall. The Eagles finished their season 29-5, setting program records for most wins and fewest losses in a single season.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – There were nearly 700 fans in attendance to watch No. 3 Juniata College men’s volleyball take on No. 9 Kean University in the 2014 NCAA Division III men’s volleyball tournament and the Eagles did not disappoint. Juniata (28-4) defeated the Cougars, 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 26-28, 25-17, 15-6), in a thriller at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center Friday night. With the win, the Eagles now face SUNY New Paltz in the national semifinal match at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Tickets will go on sale one hour prior to match time.

GREENVILLE, Pa. – No. 3 Juniata College men’s volleyball swept No. 13 Stevenson 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-11) in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) championship to earn its second consecutive title and an automatic berth to the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament. Juniata dominated in every category as it cruised to its 12th win in 13 matches to improve to 27-4 overall. The Eagles are now 5-1 all-time in the CVC tournament.
Greenville, Pa. – No. 3 Juniata College men’s volleyball defeated Dominican University 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20) in the quarterfinals and No. 4 Carthage College 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-18) in the semifinals Saturday afternoon to advance to the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) championship match for the second consecutive year. Straight from the storyline of a classic sports movie, the reigning CVC champions will face No. 13 Stevenson University in the championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 at Thiel College. Juniata (26-4) fell 3-1 to the Mustangs when the teams met in Huntingdon just over a week ago. Stevenson (21-7) handed the Eagles only their fourth loss of the season, ending an eight match win streak.

HAMBURG, N.Y. – No. 1 Juniata College men’s volleyball closed its non-conference schedule with two road wins in a tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Eagles took down host Hilbert College 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-16, 25-12) before topping Penn State Altoona 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-14). Juniata improved to 23-3 with the wins.
