HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After extending its win streak to eight this past weekend, No. 1 Juniata College men's volleyball took sole ownership of the top spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Juniata (23-3), who received six first place votes and 184 points, has won 13 of its last 14 matches.  They were tied with Springfield College for the No. 1 last week, but the pride received four first place votes and 183 points to slip into second.

SUNY New Paltz continues to command respect.  They picked up three first place votes and earned 177 points to place third.  Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) rival Carthage and Rivier round out the top five at No. 4 and No. 5 with 148 and 138 points, respectively.  No. 12 Lakeland and No. 15 Stevenson are the only other CVC programs in the poll.  Juniata closes its regular season this weekend against Stevenson and Cairn.
