HUNTINGDON, Pa. – No. 3 Juniata College men's volleyball dominated the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) postseason honors.  Juniata (27-4) won three straight contests to win the CVC title and the leagues coaches recognized many of the individual efforts that made it possible.  Four Eagles were named to the All-CVC East team including junior Paul Kuhn (York, Pa./Central York) who became the first in Juniata history to be named CVC Player of the Year.  Juniata has collected one of the big three conference awards each year since joining the league in 2012.  Eagles were named rookies of the year in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

This is Kuhn's second all-conference nod.  He leads the league and the team in aces per set. Second on the team in kills, he was named the CVC Player of the Week and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week during the season.  Kuhn also has a presence on defense and is third on the team in digs.

The four selections were more than any other program on the all-conference teams.  Joining Kuhn on the was fellow junior Joe Bortak (Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford), senior Alex McColgin (Buffalo, N.Y./Hamburg), and sophomore Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley).  Each of the foursome are ranked nationally. McColgin appears with Kuhn under the aces per set, hitting percentage, kills per set and points per set categories.  Albert and Bortak hold the highest national rankings.  Bortak is second in hitting percentage and Albert ranks ninth in blocks per set.  This is Bortak's third all-conference selection.

Among the group are the team's leaders in kills, hitting percentage, service aces, blocks, and points.

Juniata's season continues as the third seed in the 2014 NCAA Division III men's volleyball national tournament.  They will face sixth seeded Kean University in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at home in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center.  For more information on the tournament, visit ncaa.com.
