    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College field hockey received the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Award, the organization announced Tuesday. Juniata finished the fall with a 3.25 team grade point average (GPA).

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) added another award to her list of honors this week. The midfielder was named an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star after helping lead the Juniata College field hockey team back to the Landmark Conference tournament.

After not making the Landmark Conference postseason for the first time last season, the Eagles rebounded by going 4-2 in league play and competing tough in the tournament semifinals where they fell to eventual champion Catholic University 1-0.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After an illustrious career on the field, senior Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) continues to collect the accolades. She was named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for field hockey, the league announced Wednesday morning. Only 20 senior scholar-athletes are chosen each year and Dahmus joins the ranks of an elite group.

    TOWSON, Md. – At the end of each season the Landmark Conference announces the Academic Honor Roll recognizing student-athletes that have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. This year, Juniata has placed 40 student-athletes on the fall honor roll, up from 37 on year ago.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The honors keep rolling in for Juniata College field hockey senior Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin). The midfielder was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) all-region second team. There were five other student-athletes from the Landmark Conference recognized on all-region teams.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After one of its most successful fall seasons in school history, Juniata College athletics leads the Landmark Conference President’s Cup standings with 40.5 points. The total is eight points higher than where the Eagles were after last fall and one point ahead of Susquehanna University.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College field hockey team saw four Eagles earn All-Landmark Conference honors at the end of the 2013 season headlined by senior Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) who was selected as the offensive player of the year. This is the second consecutive year that Juniata has placed four on all-conference teams.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Juniata College field hockey team could not find an answer to Catholic University of America’s early first half goal as the Eagles fell 1-0 in the Landmark Conference tournament semifinals Wednesday night in Cardinal Stadium. Juniata (9-11) came into the matchup as the No. 3 seed in the tournament. Second seeded Catholic (12-5) will now host the University of Scranton in the Landmark Championship game after the Royals upset top seeded Drew 3-2 in overtime.

The Eagles (9-10, 4-2 Landmark) finished third in the league and will face Catholic University in the first round of the conference tournament.

Only 60 seniors from all of division III are chosen for the game, which takes place on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va.

Juniata (9-9, 4-1 Landmark) had won four straight against league opponents coming into the matchup and is currently vying for home field advantage in the Landmark tournament.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College field hockey team scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of play to cruise to a 5-1 win over York College Tuesday afternoon in Knox Stadium. The Eagles have won four of their last five contests and improved to 9-8 overall. This is the first time Juniata has scored five goals this season. All five were unassisted.

Juniata (7-8) is currently tied for first in the Landmark with a 3-0 record.

The Eagles defeated Moravian College 2-1 Saturday afternoon to improve to 8-8 overall, 4-0 in the Landmark. Juniata is one of two teams still unbeaten in Landmark play.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – An offensive onslaught from the Juniata College field hockey team coupled with its best team defensive effort this season was not enough to stop a late second half goal from pushing Washington & Jefferson (W&J) College to the 2-1 win Tuesday afternoon in Knox Stadium. The Eagles (7-8) held W&J to just four total shots in 70 minutes, the lowest of any of their 2013 opponents, while putting up 13 shots of their own, 10 on goal.

It is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Week for the Eagles. They are hoping to educate and build awareness of the disease this week starting with their game against Washington & Jefferson (W&J) College on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. and ending with senior day this Saturday, Oct. 19 against Moravian College. The Eagles are 7-7 overall, 3-0 Landmark, with just five games left in the regular season.

    TOWSON, Md. – Juniata College field hockey is now tied for first place in the Landmark Conference after taking down Goucher College 3-0 Saturday afternoon. The win was the Eagles second straight shutout and kept them undefeated in league play. Juniata is now 7-7 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Gophers are 3-9, 0-3 Landmark.
