HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College Athletics has carried its strong performance from the start of the year straight into the postseason becoming the only member of the Landmark Conference to qualify for all four postseason tournaments.

“I think it’s a credit to all the hard work of a lot of coaches and the support staff,” said Director of Athletics Greg Curley. “The improvements we’ve made as a department are thanks to the support the administration and Juniata has shown athletics and our student-athletes and really the commitment of many.”

Women’s Soccer
The Eagles have put together the most successful season in Juniata women’s soccer history. Their overall record of 14-4 is a new program high for wins in a season. The 53 goals they have scored along the way has also set a new team single season record and Juniata, tapped to finish tied for last by the conference preseason poll, has earned the No. 2 seed in the Landmark tournament, which is the highest regular season finish for the team to date. The Eagles will host Drew University Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m. on Winton Hill Field in semifinals play. The two teams met last Saturday in the final match of the regular season with the Eagles prevailing 3-0. Drew also finished the conference season with a 4-2 record, but Juniata earned the head-to-head tiebreaker on Saturday to finished second and gain home field advantage.

Women’s Volleyball
Juniata finished the conference season 5-0 earning the No. 1 seed in the tournament and championship hosting honors for the seventh consecutive year. Overall, Juniata is 41-0 in Landmark play since the inception of the league and has won the previous six conference titles. The first round of the tournament starts Tuesday, Nov. 5, with No. 3 Catholic University of America hosting No. 6 Goucher College and No. 4 The University of Scranton hosting No. 5 Moravian University. Both matches take place at 7 p.m. Semifinal action will begin in Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center on Friday, Nov. 8, with Juniata facing the winner of the Scranton/Moravian match at 5:30 p.m. and No. 2 Susquehanna battling the winner of Catholic/Goucher. The finals will take place Saturday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m.

Men’s Soccer
The Juniata men’s soccer team set a new single season wins record en route to qualifying for its first-ever postseason appearance. The Eagles finished the conference season 3-3-1 and qualified as the No. 4 seed. Juniata’s conference record equaled that of Scranton, but, after a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory, Juniata owns the tiebreaker to secure the final spot in the conference tournament. They finished the regular season 12-5-2 and earned the programs first National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) regional ranking, and stayed ranked for three consecutive weeks. The Eagles will face No. 1 seeded Catholic in Washington D.C. at 2:30 Thursday, Nov. 7.

Field Hockey
After missing out on its first Landmark tournament appearance last year, Juniata field hockey has come charging back to earn the No.3 seed in the tournament with a league record of 4-2. The Eagles have won half of the Landmark titles to date with the other half won by Catholic. The two teams will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in Washington D.C. in semifinal action. Two of Juniata’s three conference titles were won on the Catholic campus.
