Seven-Run Seventh Inning Catapults Eagles Past Mounties

CRESSON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team picked up another win as they defeated Mount Aloysius, 9-3, Sunday afternoon at Calandra Smith Field. 

Derek Gehr got the win as he went 7.0 innings while allowing one run on four hits with a walk and nine strikeouts. Dakotah Snyder was 2-4 with two RBI while Corey Daniels was 3-5 with a double and two RBI.  

Michael Warren got the Eagles on the board in the first with a sacrifice fly that scored Zach Johnston

Gehr kept the Mountie bats silenced as he allowed just two hits through five innings. The host's managed to tie the game in the sixth with an RBI single to left field.  

Juniata busted the game open in the seventh as they scored seven runs on four hits, highlighted by two-run singles from Daniels and Snyder.

Mount Aloysius got two back in the bottom half of the eight as they scored on a throwing error and a ground out to short.  

The Eagles scored the final run of the game in the ninth as Jacob Despot got his first career hit and wound-up scoring on a wild pitch.  

Juniata, who has won five of their last six, will travel to take on Messiah tomorrow at 4:00.
