    Lexington, KY - Eight members of the Juniata College men’s volleyball team were selected to the Continental Volleyball Conference’s 2015 All-Academic Team Friday afternoon.

    HUNTINGDON, PA. -- The Juniata College men’s volleyball team, set to compete in the NCAA Division III men’s volleyball championship, has withdrawn from all postseason competition “for disciplinary reasons,” according to Pat Shawaryn, head coach.

    NEW YORK, NY- Juniata played York and John Jay on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles easily won both matches to improve to 21-3 overall.

    ALTOONA, PA- The Juniata men’s volleyball team traveled to nearby Altoona to face the Nittany Lions on Wednesday night. The Eagles had no trouble as they cruised to a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-13, 25-20.
  • Kuhn Gets His 1,000th Kill As Juniata Defeats Thiel

    HUNTINGDON, PA- For the second time this season, a Juniata men’s volleyball player has reached 1,000 kills in his career. Paul Kuhn (York, PA/Central York) reached the historic milestone on Tuesday night after Joe Bortak (Jeanette, PA/Penn Trafford) had earlier reached the mark on March 7. Kuhn ended the night with 12 total kills and 13 digs as the Eagles defeated Thiel 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-20) at Memorial Gymnasium.
  • Bortak Nets 1000th Kill as Juniata Defeats Cairn

    HUNTINGDON, PA- Senior middle blocker Joe Bortak (Jeanette, PA/Penn Trafford) registered the 1,000th kill of his career as the Juniata men’s volleyball team defeated Cairn 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium. He is the first player to achieve the milestone since Chris Vrooman last reached it in 2010
  • Eagles Fall in Four Sets to Division I Princeton

    PRINCETON, NJ- The Juniata men’s volleyball team put up a tough fight against Division I Princeton but the Tigers came away with a 3-1 win (19-25, 29-31, 25-19, 20-25) on Friday night at Dillon Gym. The Eagles’ record now stands at 15-3 while Princeton improves to 7-5.
  • Men's Volleyball Match with Thiel Postponed

    HUNTINGDON, PA- Due to inclement weather, tonight's Juniata men's volleyball CVC match with Thiel has been postponed. The match has been rescheduled for March 17 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium.

    ARLINGTON, VA- Playing in its second match in as many days on the road, the Juniata men’s volleyball team played Marymount on Saturday night at the Verizon Sports Arena. The match went to four sets and Juniata was able to come away with a 3-1 victory (25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 25-15).
  • Men’s Volleyball Takes Down Eastern Mennonite In Three Sets

    HARRISONBURG, VA- The #5 Juniata men’s volleyball team took on Eastern Mennonite in a CVC match on Friday night at Yoder Arena. Juniata dominated for the majority of the match on its way to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-19) victory.
  • Eagles Take Out Scarlet Raiders in Five Sets
    February 24, 2015
    HUNTINGDON, PA- Juniata had a 2-0 lead only to see Rutgers-Newark come back to tie the match but the Eagles recovered in the final set to claim a 3-2 victory on Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The victory improves JC’s record to 13-2 overall and 5-0 in the CVC while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in the CVC.
  • Bortak Earns ECAC Player of the Week Honors

    DANBURY, CT- After earning Player of the Week recognition from the CVC on Monday, senior middle blocker Joe Bortak (Jeanette, PA/Penn Traford) has earned the same honor from the ECAC. This is the second straight week a Juniata player has earned this after Paul Kuhn (York, PA/Central York) did last week.

    LEXINGTON, KY- For the second straight week, a member of the Juniata men’s volleyball team has earned player of the week honors from the Continental Volleyball Conference. Senior middle blocker Joe Bortak (Jeannette, PA/Penn Trafford) has been bestowed with this recognition.
  • Eagles Handle Stevenson

    OWINGS MILLS, MD- The Juniata men’s volleyball team took on Stevenson in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) on Friday night at Owings Mills Gym. The Eagles had no trouble with the Mustangs as they won 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-16). Juniata, which has now won four in a row, improves to 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the CVC. Stevenson falls to 6-6 and 2-1 in the conference.
  • Men’s Volleyball Tops Cairn in Four Sets

    LANGHORNE, PA- The Juniata men’s volleyball team put on a strong offensive display as it dispatched Cairn 3-1 (25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 25-13) on Wednesday night. The Eagles totaled 61 kills in the match, which is their second-best effort to date.

    DANBURY, CT- A day after earning CVC player of the week recognition, senior men's volleyball player Paul Kuhn (York, PA/Central York) has another honor to lay claim to. Earlier today, he was named the ECAC South Player of the Week.

    LEXINGTON, KY- For the third time this season, a member of the Juniata men’s volleyball team has been named the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week. The honor was bestowed upon senior outside hitter Paul Kuhn (York, PA/Central York).
  • Men’s Volleyball Takes Care of Marymount

    HUNTINGDON, PA- Backed by a collective .458 hitting percentage, the Juniata men’s volleyball team dispatched Marymount 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-20) on Saturday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The Eagles improve their record to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the Continental Volleyball Conference. The Saints drop to 2-8 and 0-2 in CVC play.
  • Eagles Knock off Tomcats

    GREENVILLE, PA- The Juniata men’s volleyball team travelled to Greenville for a weeknight tilt with Thiel College on Tuesday. The Eagles had no trouble with the Bobcats as they cruised to a 3-0 win and notched their first victory in Continental Volleyball Conference play. Overall JC improves to 9-2 while Thiel falls to 5-5.
  • Men’s Volleyball Defeats Lasell, Falls to #2 Stevens

    UNION, NJ- Coming off its first loss of the season last night, the Juniata men’s volleyball team rebounded with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) win over Lasell at Kean’s Harwood Arena on Saturday. The match was part of the Kean Invitational.
  • Men’s Volleyball Suffers First Loss of the Season to #6 Kean

    UNION, NJ- The Juniata men’s volleyball battled with Kean to force a fifth set but ultimately host Kean came out with the 3-2 win on Friday night at Harwood Arena. The Eagles suffer their first loss of the season and are now 7-1. The Cougars remain unbeaten at 6-0.
  • Men’s Volleyball Maintains #1 Ranking in Latest AVCA Poll

    LEXINGTON, KY- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its latest coaches rankings in men’s volleyball on Tuesday. For the third straight week, the Juniata men’s team remains #1 overall.

    LEXINGTON, KY- Junior setter Ryan Shelton (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) was named the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week on Monday. It is the first weekly honor of his career.
  • Juniata Men's Volleyball Wins Twice at Dominican

    RIVER FOREST, IL- The Juniata men’s volleyball team traveled on the road for the first time this year. The Eagles played Benedictine on the campus of Dominican University and went to four sets where JC came out with a 3-1 victory (25-20, 29-31, 25-22, 25-16.
  • #1 Eagles Prevail Over Hunter and #13 Baruch

    HUNTINGDON, PA- The Juniata men’s volleyball team was taken to five sets for the first time this season by visiting Hunter but a strong fifth game by the Eagles gave them a 3-2 victory (25-18, 25-14, 21-25, 22-25, 15-5). JC remains undefeated at 3-0 while the Hawks fall to 1-4.
  • #1 Eagles Put Away Hawks, #10 Soaring Eagles to Claim First Wins of the Season

    HUNTINGDON, PA- The 2015 Juniata men’s volleyball season began on Friday afternoon in the first match the Juniata College Invitational. The Eagles had no problem with visiting Hilbert as they handled the Hawks 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-18).

    HUNTINGDON, PA- Coming off their most successful season in program history that saw them win 29 matches last season and advance to the NCAA Championship match, the Juniata men’s volleyball team will look to return to the national spotlight in 2015. While the team fell short of its goal in 2014, the Eagles know they have the talent to win it all.

    LEXINGTON, KY- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its 2015 Coaches Preseason Poll earlier today. The Juniata men’s volleyball team has been selected as the top team overall out of 15 teams that were ranked.
  • Men’s Volleyball Picked As CVC Preseason Favorites

    HUNTINGDON, PA- For the third consecutive year, the Juniata men’s volleyball team has been picked by the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) coaches as the 2015 preseason favorite to once again take the crown. Juniata received 36 total points, including six first-place votes, in the poll.
  • Four Eagles Named Off The Block/Springbak Inc. Preseason All-Americans

    NASHVILLE, TN- Four members of the Juniata men’s volleyball team were named to the Off The Block/Springbak Inc. Preseason All-American team. Junior setter Matt Elias (Lansdale, PA/North Penn), junior middle attacker Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley), senior middle attacker Joe Bortak (Jeanette, PA/Penn Trafford) and senior outside attacker Paul Kuhn (York, PA/Central York) were all named to the First Team. The Eagles led all Division III teams in number of selections.
