Men’s Volleyball’s Shelton Named CVC Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, KY- Junior setter Ryan Shelton (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) was named the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week on Monday. It is the first weekly honor of his career.

 

Shelton helped lead the Eagles to three wins on the weekend. He finished with 46 assists in a 3-1 win over Benedictine on Friday, adding six digs. In the match he ran an offense that finished with a .429 hitting percentage. Later that night he recorded 43 assists on 54 of his team's kills in a 3-1 victory over Dominican, in which the team hit .305. He closed out the weekend with 33 assists in a come from behind 3-2 win over #5 ranked Carthage. Overall, Shelton averaged 9.38 assists per set and finished with 122 assists in 13 sets.

 

The Eagles are 7-0 for the first time in program history. They will look to remain undefeated when they play #6 Kean on Friday night in Union, NJ. Match time will be at 6 p.m.
