Keuka Park, N.Y. – The Juniata men's lacrosse team led 4-1 at Keuka before ultimately falling 9-5 on Thursday evening.

Charlie Newman put two goals away, while Kolton Black, Jonathan Montoya, and Aiden Duran each had one. Beaux Wojciechowski had all four assists for the Eagles, a new single-game program record.

The Eagles shined in the first quarter of the game, scoring four of their five goals and creating a three-goal lead against the Wolves. Black kicked it off for JC getting past multiple defenders to find the back of the net in the fifth minute. Under two minutes later and from behind the goal, Wojciechowski found Duran with no defender, who quickly shot and put a second goal on the board.

Keuka answered back with their only goal in the first quarter with only three minutes on the clock.

Wojciechowski, behind the net again, connected with an unmarked Newman standing right in front of the Wolves goalie. In the 13th minute of the first quarter, Newman fired a shot and earned Juniata's third goal. The Eagles weren't done yet, as Montoya wanted to get on the board too. Wojciechowski made his third assist, finding Montoya running into play unmarked. Montoya was able to rip a shot and get past the goalie ending the scoring for the first quarter.

The second quarter saw five Keuka goals to Juniata's one. With seven minutes to go before halftime, Newman scored JC's final goal for the day off a pass from Wojciechowski.

Keuka finished up the day by scoring twice in the third and tacking on one more in the fourth to finish at 9-5.

Justin Toney totaled 14 saves, earning a 60.9 save percentage. A. John DeFruscio had four caused turnovers and Wyatt Ledeboer and Newman totaled two each. Matt McCleary totaled groundballs, while Wojciechowski, DeFruscio, Toney, Duran, and Reuben Stoll all tallied three.

The Eagles head to Marywood this Saturday, March 18, for a 1:00 pm start.
