There were 75 student-athletes who participated in the 136th Annual Commencement on Saturday, May 17 to receive their degrees.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. This soccer season was unlike any other for the men’s team. The Eagles earned their first birth into the Landmark Conference Tournament in program history, placed second in the conference tournament and earned a spot in the Eastern Athletic conference (ECAC) tournament. Junior Robby Higgins (Middletown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) played a huge role within the success of the program this season.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – At the start of the 2013 season, the Juniata College men’s soccer team had never qualified for a post-season tournament. They had never won more than 10 games in a season and had never finished higher than seventh in the Landmark Conference. In recent years they had been knocking on the door and this season they charged straight through. After almost three months of competition and 22 games, none of those facts stood true any more. The Eagles finished the year 13-6-3 over all, fourth in the Landmark regular season, second in the conference tournament, and earned an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament berth.

    TOWSON, Md. – At the end of each season the Landmark Conference announces the Academic Honor Roll recognizing student-athletes that have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. This year, Juniata has placed 40 student-athletes on the fall honor roll, up from 37 on year ago.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After one of its most successful fall seasons in school history, Juniata College athletics leads the Landmark Conference President’s Cup standings with 40.5 points. The total is eight points higher than where the Eagles were after last fall and one point ahead of Susquehanna University.

    TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has announced the 2013 Men’s Soccer All-Conference selection and three members of the Juniata College men’s soccer team were named Second-Team selections and head coach Dan Dubois was named Landmark Coach of the Year. Senior Dane Azeles (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) has earned is second all-conference selection, and juniors Robby Higgins (Middletown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and Nick Weit (Litiz Pa./Warwick) both garnered their first all-conference honor. The Coach of the Year honor is the first for Dubois and the first for Juniata men’s soccer.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After two periods of scoreless overtime in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Division III Men’s Soccer Championship, the Juniata College men’s soccer team took its 2-2 tie with Lebanon Valley College (LVC) into a penalty kick shootout. The Eagles fell 5-4 with LVC’s goalkeeper making a save on the final shot from Juniata.

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. – It has been a year of first for the Juniata College men’s soccer team. They finished the regular season 12-5-2 overall setting the program single season record for wins. The Eagles then earned their first ever post-season bid and upset top-seeded Catholic University of America in the first round of the Landmark Conference playoffs. After falling 1-0 to now back-to-back conference champions Susquehanna University, Juniata has been selected to participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Men’s Soccer Championship.

    SELINSGROVE, Pa. – In its first ever Landmark Conference Championship appearance, the Juniata College men’s soccer team fought hard against defending league champions, Susquehanna University, and ultimately fell 1-0 on Sassafras Field. The Eagles, slated to finish sixth by the preseason poll, had a history season, winning a program best 13 matches and qualifying for the programs first postseason, and end the Landmark season runner up.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – It only took the Juniata College men’s soccer team five minutes and 28 seconds to get on the board in the Landmark Conference semifinals. From there, the Eagles never looked back, scoring once more in the first half and again just over a minute into the second for a final 3-1 victory over top seeded Catholic University of America in Juniata’s first postseason match.

However; with the Eagles solid conference record of 3-3-1, the team has qualified for its first ever post-season appearance. Juniata will have to wait for the outcome of the Catholic vs. U.S. Merchant Marine Academy game, Monday Nov. 4, to know its opponent, but the men have qualified.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – With a record of 12-4-2 on the year, the Juniata College men’s soccer team will host Drew University on Winton Hill Field this Saturday, Nov. 2. The Eagles are 0-6 against the Rangers since the formation of the Landmark Conference and will look to snap that streak on Senior Day.

    WHITEHALL, Pa. – The Juniata College men’s soccer team stopped a surging U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) today, winning 2-1 in a match that was rescheduled from earlier this month. The Eagles got two goals in the first ten minutes of the match and held on for their third conference win of the year and improved to 12-4-2 overall.

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After surrendering a goal in the 16th minute, the Juniata College men’s soccer team scored two second half goals to earn the 2-1 Landmark Conference win over Moravian College. The Eagles improve to 2-0-1 in league play marking the most conference wins in a season for Juniata since the foundation of the Landmark. With the win, Juniata men’s soccer is enjoying the best season in program history eclipsing the previous mark of 10 wins in a season set in 1992.

Senior Evan Decker (New Berlin, Pa./Mifflinburg) scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for his first and second tallies of the year.

The 3:30 p.m. match will be the second half of a double header with the women’s team who will also face the Gophers.
