HUNTINGDON, Pa. – This season has already been a year of first for the Juniata College men's soccer team. Adding to that list is the first ever National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) ranking. The Eagles slot in at No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic poll, the association announced Tuesday.

"It's nice to be recognized by people outside of the program and outside of the community for what you are doing," said head coach Dan Dubois. "People here know what we are doing. For a national committee of people that we don't know to recognize that we are doing something great here is very rewarding."

Juniata is off to its best start in program history at 9-2-1 and is 1-0 in Landmark Conference play for the first time. The Eagles are set to face U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on the road this Saturday, Oct. 5, at noon.

"Getting recognized in a poll is something, even a few years ago, we didn't know was possible for Juniata College men's soccer," added Dubois. "It shows how hard these guys have worked, and how much effort they have put in, to be where they are and to be in a position to be recognized. It's great. It's not something that we're getting head over heels about as a program because we know it's only a step in the right direction for us. There are still places we need to go. But it's a great step, a fantastic step, for us."
