    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team hit for power and moved around the base path well in 2014. Juniata (5-28-1, 2-10 Landmark) recorded its third best season of triples and home runs in the past 15 years. There were three Eagles who moved into the record books for single season extra-base hits and two for stolen bases. Juniata actually led the Landmark Conference in stolen bases.

  • Landmark Announces Spring Sportsmanship Teams

    TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has announced the final All-Sportsmanship Teams for the inaugural season of the award. In the fall of 2013 the leagues’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the sportsmanship award as a way to recognize those who are making an impact through their fair play on the field. The team includes one representative from each institution for each sport as chosen by their coaches and teammates.

    TOWSON, Md. – For the second time during the 2013-14 season, 40 Juniata College student-athletes earned Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll standing, the league announced this morning. Juniata had 40 members on the fall honor roll and 29 after the winter season.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball (5-24-1) tied game one of its doubleheader against Penn State Harrisburg 2-2 right before the skies opened up and forced the contest to be called. Juniata’s defense held the Lions scoreless in the top of the sixth inning, but its offense would never get the chance to continue its momentum from the fifth.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball will host Susquehanna University on Saturday, April 19 in a Landmark Conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on West End Field. Juniata (5-22, 2-6 Landmark) has won two of its last four league games coming into the matchup. Susquehanna (17-11) is currently undefeated in the Landmark at 8-0.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball’s doubleheader against Penn State Harrisburg originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 has been postponed. The games will now take place on Tuesday, April 22.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team was firing on all cylinders in game two of its Landmark Conference doubleheader against Drew University Sunday afternoon to earn the split and improve to 2-6 in conference play. Juniata (5-22) dropped game one 4-1, but came out strong in the nightcap and held on for the 8-7 win. The Eagles have now won two of their last four games.

    SCRANTON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team broke out of its slump Saturday afternoon by splitting against Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton. Juniata (4-21, 1-5 Landmark) dropped the opener 17-9, but came from behind to take game two 7-5. Scranton moved to 6-13 overall, 2-4 in conference with the loss.

    HARRISONBURG, Va. – Eastern Mennonite University hit a walkoff double in the bottom of the seventh inning to upend the Juniata College softball team 4-3 in game one of their doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. The Royals bats remained hot in game two as their defense held Juniata off the board for five innings in an 8-0 victory.

Juniata took the Bearcats into extra innings before falling 9-5 (8) in game one and 10-1 in game two. Juniata (3-15) went .304 and hit a cycle as a team.

Juniata (3-13, 0-2 Landmark) rallied late in game one before falling 14-5, and dropped game two 5-0. Elizabethtown (6-10) improved to 3-1 in Landmark play with the wins.
