HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball will host Susquehanna University on Saturday, April 19 in a Landmark Conference doubleheader.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on West End Field.  Juniata (5-22, 2-6 Landmark) has won two of its last four league games coming into the matchup.  Susquehanna (17-11) is currently undefeated in the Landmark at 8-0.

The Eagles split with Susquehanna when they met the reigning Landmark champions last year, winning game one 3-2, before falling in the night cap 8-0.  This season, Juniata has been paced at the plate by freshman Paige Dennison (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) and junior Katie Schroeder (Kempton, Pa./Kutztown).  The pair are hitting .416 and .321, respectively, and have combined for over a third of the team's hits including five doubles.  Schroeder leads the team with four triples and is tied for the lead in home runs with three.  Dennison has been walked 11 times and has a .500 on base percentage.

As a team, Juniata averaged over six runs per game against their last two conference opponents.  They will need to continue the recent run production if they going to upend a Crusader squad that has won 10 of its last 12 games.  Sophomore Amanda Neveroski is Susquehanna's offensive leader.  She sits atop the team hitting .355 and leads in runs, hits and doubles.

It is the Eagles final home Landmark matchup of the season and senior day.  They will take time to recognize Lydia Gorba (Portage, Pa./Portage), Dana Relation (Lyon Mountain, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central), and Rachel Smith (Martinsburg, Pa./Homeschooled) between games.
