HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball is hosting Penn State Altoona on Thursday, April 3 for its second non-conference home matchup of the year.  The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. with second game following around 5 p.m.  Juniata (3-15) is hoping to use the games to pull out of a skid as they head deeper into Landmark Conference play.

The Eagles offense has been led by newcomer Paige Dennison (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs). The first year player has a .429 batting average while leading the team in hits and RBI.  Freshman Lindsey Kosicki (Patton, Pa./Cambria Heights) has been swinging a big bat at home for the Eagles, with her two home runs coming on West End Field. Sophomore Aly Smith (Mount Union, Pa./Mount Union) continues to be an ace on the mound.  The lefty has a team-low 4.12 ERA and leads the team, and is tied for third in the league, with 34 strikeouts.

Juniata has not faced the Lions since 2012.  Penn State Altoona (14-4) is on a five game win streak.  They split with St. Vincent College earlier this year, who the Eagles dropped two tough games to last week, and have four starters hitting over .400 at the plate.
