Coltan Swarts Breaks 200 Backstroke School Record on Sunday

Dallas, PA - Juniata closed Sunday's session at the Cougar Splash with several strong swims highlighted by a new program record in the 200 backstroke from Coltan Swarts, marking the first school record of the day for the women's team. Swarts delivered a standout performance in the finals, continuing a weekend that showcased growth across multiple individual and relay events.

In the 800 freestyle relay, Juniata's A relay of Eleanor Smith, Dani Cline, Lakelynn Godfrey, and Coltan Swarts placed fifth overall with a time of 8:17.75. Smith led off the relay and later added to her historic weekend with a school-record swim in the 400 IM. The Juniata B relay of Maegan Jordan, Abby Ortiz, Delany Wetzel, and Ellie Parton followed with an eighth-place finish in 8:38.12, contributing valuable depth for the Eagles.

Juniata also had multiple finalists in individual events during the evening session. Coltan Swarts earned a top-three finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.67, while Snabu Neupane competed in the same event and posted a 1:26.09 swim. In the 100 breaststroke, Juniata placed four swimmers in the top 20, led by Lena Englerth (11th), Maegan Jordan (12th), and Norah McClain (14th).

Swarts' historic 200 backstroke swim made the session a milestone moment for Juniata swimming as they head into the break.
