WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team lost in the nation's capital to the #18 ranked the Catholic University of America, 17-2, Saturday afternoon at Carlini Field.
Kelliann Drummond (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) and Kyndall Yeager (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) each scored a goal for the Eagles, with Shayla Lapp (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) adding an assist for the Eagles. Chloe Gerhard (Macungie, Pa. / Emmaus) made six saves for JC, while Cecelia LaRae Telemeco (Keedysville, Md. / Boonsboro) managed four saves in the second half.
The Cardinals scored ten straight goals to open the game, spanning late in the second quarter when Yeager broke through for JC.
Catholic opened the second half with three goals before Lapp found Drummond for JC's second goal in the final minute of the third.
The Cardinals tacked on three more in the final quarter to complete the scoring.
Juniata will travel to take on Lycoming Wednesday at 7:00.
