HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost a tight one at Gibbel Stadium against FDU-Florham, 10-7, Wednesday afternoon.
Sterling Bechler had two goals, an assist, and a ground ball while Liam Walsh had two goals. Reuben Stoll totaled a goal and an assist while Vincent Bechler had two assists. Logan Douglas and Charlie Newman each had one goal. Newman added two caused turnovers and four ground balls. A. John DeFruscio caused four turnovers and picked up two ground balls. Ryan Madison made 21 saves in goal for the Eagles.
Erickson found Stoll for a goal three minutes into the game, and V. Bechler found Walsh for a second 11 seconds later. The Devils scored the next three before Douglas found the back of the net, and the first quarter ended 3-3.
The Devils built a two-goal lead in the first three minutes of the second quarter. Juniata answered with two goals with under five to go. Stoll found Newman who fired from range and beat the keeper over his left shoulder. The Bechler brothers combined for the other, with Vincent finding Sterling to tie things at five. The Devils managed to score inside the final minute to lead by one.
Bechler found Walsh less than a minute after a Devil goal to bring JC within one.
From there, FDU-Florham fended off the Eagles, keeping a two-goal lead for the rest of the game.
Juniata will return to action on Friday at Randolph at 1:00.
