  • Landmark Announces Spring All-Academic Team

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Four Eagles have earned Landmark Conference All-Academic Team honors, the league announced Tuesday. Seniors Brice Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) and Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) with junior Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and sophomore Heather Waring (San Antonio, Texas/John Jay) were named the top two male and female student-athletes who excelled in the classroom and in their respective sports this spring for Juniata.
  • 29 Student-Athletes Named to 2013 Spring Academic Honor Roll

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Landmark Conference has released its 2013 Spring Academic Honor Roll and 29 Juniata College student-athletes have made the cut. The Eagles are of at least sophomore status and have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA while competing in their respective sports. Among the recipients are 10 all-conference selections and four Landmark Champions.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College Athletics reviewed its year in sports and acknowledged the accomplishments of its student-athletes at the 17th Annual Athletic Awards Night. Held Sunday night on campus, the event also recognized the departments “Big Five”, the top five senior student-athletes who have made incredible contributions not only to their respective sports, but the institution as a whole over the course of their four years.
  • Shaffer Wins Second Player of the Week Nod

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Senior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) was named Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday. Shaffer won the heptathlon at the Messiah Invitational after competing Thursday and Friday.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Senior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) has been named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete for women's indoor track and field, the organization announced Thursday. Honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on academic and athletic accomplishments. There were only six recognized for the winter season and Shaffer topped the list of all women's indoor track and field senior student-athletes.

  • Woods Breaks School Record at Crusader Outdoor Classic

    SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Both the Juniata College men and women’s outdoor track and field teams traveled to Susquehanna University for the Crusader Outdoor Classic Saturday and had great individual performances. Junior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) broke the school record in the 5K by a second, winning the event in 17:55.55, the fastest time in the Landmark Conference this year. She won the event nearly a minute ahead of the second place finisher. Her time also qualified her for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships. Woods set the record last year at Susquehanna.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – For the second straight week, junior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was named Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. She set a new Landmark indoor record in the 3000 meters at Bucknell’s 19th Annual Winter Classic.

    LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) set a new Landmark Conference Indoor record at Bucknell University’s 19th Annual Winter Classic Saturday. She finished the 3000m in a personal best 10:23.90 to crush the previous Landmark record of 10:31.7 by nearly eight seconds. Woods finished seventh in the event.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was named Landmark Conference Women’s Track Player of the Week Monday. Woods set a personal record of 5:15.41 in the 1-mile event at the Susquehanna Crusader Classic. She holds the fastest time in the Landmark Conference for the event by more than 16 seconds.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) of the Juniata women’s indoor track and field team was named Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday. Shaffer is the first Eagle to earn a conference nod this season. She won two events at the Lebanon Valley Indoor Invite Saturday to garner the honor.

    ANNVILLE, Pa. – Juniata men’s and women’s track and field combined for 13 top three finishes at the Lebanon Valley College Indoor Invite Saturday. The Eagles won four events and had outstanding performances from several student-athletes.
