HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) of the Juniata women's indoor track and field team was named Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday.  Shaffer is the first Eagle to earn a conference nod this season.  She won two events at the Lebanon Valley Indoor Invite Saturday to garner the honor.

"She had a good day," said Head Coach Jon Cutright.  "It was a good start for her.  She did some work over the break and you can see that she is a little bit stronger and a little fitter."

Shaffer won both the triple and high jump events.  She jumped a season-best 10.15m in the triple jump and then went on to clear a Landmark best 5'4" in the high jump.

The Eagles prepare to travel to Selinsgrove, Pa. this Friday, Feb. 1 for the Susquehanna Crusader Classic next.  They have three meets remaining before the Landmark Indoor Championships.
