The Eagles Put Up Good Results at the River Hawk Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Juniata women's track and field team put forth a strong showing at the Susquehanna University meet on Saturday, highlighted by several top-five finishes across various events.

In the 60-meter dash, first-year Gracie French advanced to the finals with a preliminary time of 8.22, ultimately finishing fourth in the finals with a time of 8.26. Sophomore Breanne Spencer also reached the finals, placing eighth in 8.80.

French continued her impressive performance in the 200 meters, securing fifth place with a time of 28.18. Spencer followed in 23rd place at 30.83, while junior Ashley Alfree (31.02) and first-year Rae Waight (34.77) rounded out Juniata's entries in the event.

Senior Rebecca Christophel led the Eagles in the 800 meters with a sixth-place finish, clocking in at 2:35.31. first-year Chloe Reilley completed the event in 12th place with a time of 2:52.55.

In the mile, sophomore Camille McRoberts was Juniata's top finisher, placing 10th in 6:08.20. Freshmen Olivia Brenneman (11th, 6:21.21), Cecelia Williams (15th, 6:43.88), and Kya Lester (19th, 7:18.91) also competed.

Junior Olivia Barbacci delivered a strong fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.00, while French placed eighth at 10.52.

The 4x400-meter relay saw Juniata's A team of Barbacci, Alfree, Jacqueline Bryant, and Reilley finish fifth with a time of 4:42.09. The B team of Christophel, French, McRoberts, and Lester took eighth at 4:46.22.

In field events, Barbacci excelled in the pole vault, placing second with a mark of 3.20m (10' 6"). Sophomore Josie Kelly cleared 2.60m (8' 6.25") for eighth place. Barbacci also contributed in the high jump, finishing fifth with a clearance of 1.48m (4' 10.25"), while Bryant placed 12th at 1.33m (4' 4.25").

Kelly and Spencer led Juniata in the long jump, finishing ninth (4.53m) and 11th (4.41m), respectively. Bryant placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 9.46m (31' 0.5").

In the throws, sophomore Chloe Sauer placed 16th in the shot put with a throw of 9.36m (30' 8.5") and 25th in the weight throw with a mark of 9.58m (31' 5.25").

The Eagles will return to action next weekend as they compete at Bucknell on January 25th at 3:00 PM.
