Women's Track and Field Takes Sixth at DuCharme Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track & field team finished sixth out of nine teams at the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson College, Sunday.

In the mile, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) took the top spot, crossing the line at 5:19.39. Kalil improves on her mile time and keeps her third all-time in the Juniata record book. Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS) finished fourth with a time of 5:36.26 and Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished ninth with a time of 6:14.27 in the mile. 

In the 3000m, Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) finished sixth coming in with a time of 12:39.11. In the 55m, Holly Caldwell (Milford, Conn. / Jonathan Law) finished 14th with a time of 8.35 while Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) finished 16th clocking in at 8.97. In the 200m, Kelly finished 15th crossing the line at 33.74. 

In the 300m, Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished third coming in with a time of 49.58 and Caldwell finished fourth with a time of 50.75. In the 500m, Barnes finished fourth clocking in at 1:31.41. 

In the field, Lauren Hahn (Doylestown, Pa, / CB West) was the top finisher for the Eagles as she took first in the shot put marking, 11.09m. Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed eighth in the shot put throwing 8.95m. 

The team travels to Susquehanna, February 29th to compete in Landmark Championships.
