Women's Track and Field Competes at Coach I Open

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Juniata women's track & field team competed in the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall, Saturday.

In the 3000m, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) took fourth with a time of 10:42.96 while Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished 35th with a time of 12:34.32. In the 60m dash, Holly Caldwell (Milford, Conn. / Jonathan Law) finished 39th coming in with a time of 9.05 and Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) finished 50th with a time of 10.11. 

In the 800m, Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS) (2:40.23), Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) (2:43.74), and Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Bridgeport Central HS) (2:47.04) finished 36th, 40th, and 44th, respectively. In the 200m dash, Caldwell finished 34th crossing the line at 31.13 and Kelly finished 46th coming in with a time of 35.70. 

In the distance medley relay, the team of Freimuth, Aragon, Barnes, and Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) finished 17th clocking in at 14:58.82. 

In the field, Lauren Hahn (Doylestown, Pa, / CB West) placed 25th in the shot put throwing, 10.16m. 

The Eagles return January 31st to compete in the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell.
