Yordy to McRoberts Sends Eagles Past Lions

Reading, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team won in thrilling fashion as Camille McRoberts goal right at the final whistle gave them a 2-1 win at Albright College, Saturday evening.

Amelia Yordy had a goal and an assist, while McRoberts had the other goal and Alyssa Bui had an assist. Julia Lane got the win in goal.

Fourteen minutes in, the Lions broke through and put Junita in an early 1-0 hole. Juniata outshot Albright 5-2 in the first half but couldn't find an equalizer.

In the 79th minute, Bui won the ball in the midfield, dribbled past a Lion defender, and played a ball to Yordy's feet. The junior forward poked it first-time towards goal, just past the diving keeper to even things at 1-1.

In the final seconds of the game, Naomi Rich fired a shot that the Lion keeper pushed out of bounds. Yordy ran over to get the ball and take the corner. She kicked the ball with three seconds on the clock and McRoberts headed it home to give Juniata the win.

The Eagles outshot the Lions 16-4 and had a 10-0 advantage in corners.

The women's soccer team's winning streak sits at six games.

Juniata returns to action next Saturday when they open Landmark Conference play against Drew at 1:00.
