HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team continued their winning ways with a 1-0 win over visiting Franciscan, Sunday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.
Sydney Simpson had the goal, while Alyssa Bui provided the assist. Sarah Betts made seven saves in goal for Juniata.
In the 25th minute, Bui played in a corner from the left side into the middle of the goal. Simpson rose above everyone else and headed it in.
The visitors held a 7-4 advantage in shots at the break.
Betts was called upon twice in the opening 16 minutes of the second half, and was up to the task both times.
Later in the second half, Gracie French was played a through ball that she tried to poke past the onrushing Baron keeper, but they trapped the ball under them.
Franciscan ultimately outshot the Eagles 11-9, and each team took two corners.
Juniata returns to action next Saturday at Albright at 5:00 PM.
