Eagles Impeach Presidents

Eagles Impeach Presidents

Huntingdon, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat visiting Washington and Jefferson 2-0, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

Sydney Simpson and Savanna Murray each netted once for Juniata while Alyssa Bui had an assist. Julia Lane made two saves to get the shutout in goal.

In the final seconds of the first half, Daniela Scipioni played in a corner that caromed around before bouncing off the W&J goalie's fist toward the back post. Simpson was in the right place to tap it in as Juniata led 1-0 at the half.

Juniata held a 10-0 advantage in shots in the first half.

Ten minutes into the second half, Bui played a through ball Murray ran onto, took a touch, and beat the onrushing keeper to double the Eagle lead.

Juniata, on a four-game winning streak, will look to continue their strong play at home against Franciscan tomorrow at 2:00.
