Women's Soccer Host Drew for Senior Day

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The women's soccer team dropped a conference match 2-1 with Drew on Saturday at Gibbel Stadium. Prior to the game, the 2022 senior class was honored. 

The first half saw the Rangers besting the Eagles 10-1 in shots.

Cati Besch tallied two consecutive saves in the first two minutes of the game before Ashley McWilliams could break through the Drew defenders and take a shot from the righthand side of the box. The Drew keeper deflected the ball away. 

Drew's first goal came in the 29th minute before Besch made two more saves on the half as Juniata headed into halftime down 1-0.

Entering the second half, Alyssa Bui fired a long ball from outside the 18-yard box that was saved by the Drew keeper. 

A foul inside Drew's box during the 55th minute resulted in Savanna Murray burying a penalty shot to score Juniata's lone goal of the game. 

Drew answered back with their second goal, getting passed JC in the 62nd minute.

Besch totaled ten saves on the day as Juniata only dished out five shots, and Drew managed 18.

The Seniors that were honored prior to game time were Cati Besch, Colleen O'Brien, Helen Chavez, Alexa Neiderer, and Hayden Thompson

The Eagles host Lycoming for their last home match of the season Wednesday, October 26, at 7:30 pm.
