Eagles Fall 3-0 in Regular Season Finale at Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team fell 3-0 Saturday afternoon on the road at Landmark rival University of Scranton.  Juniata (9-7-1, 2-4 Landmark) fended off a flurry of shots from the Royals who end the regular season 7-7, 4-0-2 in Landmark play.

Freshman Kristin Twardowski (Emmaus, Pa./Southern Lehigh) finished with a match-high four saves in just over 80 minutes on the pitch.  She is third in the league in saves with 64 this season.

Juniata's only shot on goal came from freshman Michaela Lacek (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern) in the first half.  Scranton's defense earned its 10th shutout of the year to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament.

The loss ended Juniata's hopes of making the Landmark tournament, but they are still in the running for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) postseason.  The ECAC selects teams for the tournament in early November.
