HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's soccer team defeated Lycoming College 1-0, thanks to a junior Jenna Rodrigue (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) goal at Winton Hill Field on Monday afternoon.
Rodrigue struck in the 60th minute when she accepted a pass from Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, N.Y./Bloomfield Central) and finessed it passed losing goalkeeper Caitlin Dougherty.
Juniata's (2-0) Kristin Twardowski (Emmaus, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded her first saves as a collegiate soccer goalkeeper, as she stopped three Warrior shots from entering the Juniata net.
The Eagles took at total 16 shots against Lycoming (0-2) with nine players taking at least one.
Juniata resumes play against Keystone College on Saturday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. in La Plume, Pa.
