BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata softball team lost two games at #23 Moravian University, 7-0 and 6-0, Saturday afternoon.
In game one, the teams traded zeros until the bottom of the fourth, when the Greyhounds went off for five runs. They scored on an RBI-single up the middle, an RBI-single down the leftfield line, a sacrifice fly to right, and a two-run single to right.
They added two more in the sixth on an RBI-single to right-center and another sacrifice fly to right.
Morgan Brumbaugh was two for three, while Claire Thomas and Eva Johnson both went 1-3. Gracie Ruch got the start and went 2.0 innings, allowing two hits and a walk. Isabella Countryman pitched 1.1 innings and allowed four runs on three hits, while Maryn Swank pitched 2.2 innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
The Greyhounds jumped on the Eagles early in game two with a two-run home run to right.
They added another run on a fielder's choice in the third before adding two more in the fourth on an RBI-triple and a two-run single to center.
Jessie Hunt went 2-3, while Alison Superka and Alex Douglass each were 1-3. Rylea Lynch got the start and went 3.0 innings while allowing three runs and two hits on two walks. Maddy Detz pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and one strikeout. Courtney Clippinger pitched the sixth, allowing one hit.
