Game 1: Dickinson 11, Juniata 2
HUNTINGDON, Pa - Juniata fell behind early in the first game of the doubleheader and couldn't recover, dropping an 11-2 decision at West End Field. Dickinson's offense erupted for five runs in the first inning, including a grand slam, and added four more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
The Eagles got on the board in the third when Alison Superka singled to center, driving in Jessie Hunt, followed by an RBI single from Claire Thomas. However, Juniata managed just five hits against Dickinson's starter, who struck out six over six innings. Rylea Lynch took the loss, with Gracie Ruch and Maryn Swank combining for the remaining innings in relief.
Game 2: Juniata 4, Dickinson 2
Juniata bounced back in the second game, using strong pitching from Isabella Countryman and early offensive power to secure a 4-2 victory. Jessie Hunt put the Eagles on the board in the first inning with a solo home run, then added an RBI double in the third. Moments later, Alison Superka crushed a two-run homer to extend the lead to 4-0.
Countryman was dominant in the circle, going the distance while allowing just three hits and one walk. She kept Dickinson off the scoreboard until the seventh, when the visitors pushed across two runs, but a strong defensive effort helped Juniata close out the win.
Juniata heads to Moravian this weekend for a doubleheader kicking off at 1:00 PM.
