TOWSON Md.- Juniata softball utility player Morgan Brumbaugh earned Landmark Athlete of the Week honors following a strong week offensively in doubleheaders against Landmark Conference opponents Scranton and nonconference opponents Lebanon Valley.
Juniata earned 6-2 and 6-5 wins and split against Lebanon Valley with a 7-5 win in game two. Over the course of the week, Brumbaugh was 7-for-15 with four doubles, a triple, six RBIs, and three runs scored. Her best performance came in the second game against Scranton, where she went 4-for-4 with three doubles, a triple, and four RBIs with two runs scored. Her run-scoring production in the game gave Juniata an early lead in the second inning, while she tied the game back up at 4-4 with a sixth-inning double.
The Juniata softball team begins the week second in the Landmark Conference standings with a 16-14, 8-4 record. With four games to play, they are two games above the playoff bubble. They'll face Lycoming for two games on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
